QUARTZ CO. LAUNCHES ITS FIRST POP-UP SERIES
Text by:Quartz Co.
This Fall, Quartz Co. is bringing the Northern experience to cities across Canada with the launch of its first-ever pop-up series. The new project comprises two experience-driven, ephemeral retail spaces located in Toronto’s Yorkville Shopping Centre and Montreal’s St. Catherine Street. Situated in two of Canada’s most iconic shopping districts, the series is a landmark moment for Quartz Co. and is the first time the brand has opened a space in the city of Toronto.

The temporary retail spaces draw inspiration from the Northern lifestyle — the North’s minimalist design sensibilities and rugged landscapes, — and Quartz Co.’s own performance garments. Once again, Quartz Co. has partnered with design agency Rainville Sangaré to bring this vision to life. The concrete interior, fitted with stainless steel fixtures and Canadian pine wood furniture, draws its sleek look from the sparse environments of Canada’s Nordic regions. The quilted, cocoon-like walls and entrance of the project’s Yorkville location are crafted from repurposed textiles sourced from the label’s factories.
For the first time, Quartz Co. collaborates with Montreal-based multiplatform design studio Baillat Studio to produce experiential window installations for both locations. Symbolic of the elemental protection Quartz Co.’s outerwear is known for, the Yorkville pop-up’s window features a jacket from the label’s newly-launched FW21 collection engulfed in a flurry of snow. On St. Catherine Street, the space’s window is lit up by a video installation projected against one of Quartz Co.’s new FW21 jackets and a quilted backdrop crafted from recycled fabrics.
