WINTER DIARIES | MAGALIE LÉPINE-BLONDEAU

Text by: Quartz Co.

Quartz Co. presents Winter Diaries, a series about the intimate relationship between Canadian Creators and Winter.

By a late Autumn day of 2017, we spent the day with French Canadian actress, Magalie Lépine-Blondeau, known for her roles in Laurence Anyways (directed by Xavier Dolan) and famous French Canadian TV series 19-2 and District 31. We explored her creative process and chatted about her relationship with winter — a time for self-awareness and introspection.
Since then, Magalie has continued to shine in her acting career, appearing — among other projects — in Monia Chokri’s film The Nature of Love (2023), which won Best Foreign Film at the César Awards in France in 2024.

Let’s return to her Winter Diaries interview and explore the connection she shares with Montreal’s winter.

« My work as an actress is to reveal human nature! » – Magalie Lépine Blondeau, 2017
